A 2,000 year old building material, redesigned for rain
This isn't ordinary permeable concrete. AquiPor changes the pore structure of the concrete itself, so it captures water on contact, mimicking natural hydrology while holding pollutants at the surface.
AquiPor Technologies, Inc. is a Spokane company. The 12" x 12" AquiPor paver is available to order now.

Seven years of incubation
For the past seven years, Spilker Precast has had the honor of serving as the incubation space where AquiPor built and refined its technology. The additive is now at the pilot and proof of concept stage.
A cubic yard of concrete weighs about 4,000 lb. Only 80 to 150 lb of AquiPor's additive, depending on mix design and use, is enough to change how that concrete handles water. In independent third-party testing, AquiPor pavers removed 97.2% of total suspended solids and 82% of 6PPD-quinone.
Fast catch, slow release
Ordinary pavers shed water to the nearest drain. AquiPor material has a fine, distributed pore structure that takes water in on contact, holds it, and lets it move down at a controlled rate, replicating natural hydrology so less runoff reaches the street.
Catch: rain is taken into the paver surface instead of running off.
Hold: water is held in the paver and the open-graded base below it, and sediment is filtered out at the surface.
Release: water moves into the soil slowly, closer to how a natural, undeveloped site handles rain.
Independent third-party laboratory testing (Evergreen StormH2O, Report 25013, March 2026; American Engineering Testing): 97.2% total suspended solids removal and 82% 6PPD-quinone removal.
Where AquiPor can work
HORIZONTAL APPLICATIONS
Surfaces that take in rain where it falls, reducing pressure on outdated or failing stormwater systems.
• Drycast pavers, including the 12" x 12" standard paver
• Precast basins and drainage structures
• Cast-in-place sidewalks and plazas
• Tree wells and streetscapes
VERTICAL APPLICATIONS
Walls that let water move through instead of building up behind them.
• Reducing hydrostatic pressure behind cast-in-place and segmental retaining walls
• Emergency deployable retaining walls that allow water to pass through, leaving debris, sediment, and pollutants behind
• Increasing the longevity of cast-in-place and segmental walls
